# Keyboard shortcuts
Every keyboard shortcut in the WatchFor dashboard — the ⌘K / Ctrl K command palette, go-to and create chords, Inbox keys, incident notes, the post-mortem editor and the ? cheat sheet.
Press ? anywhere in the dashboard to see the main shortcuts in place.
Single-key shortcuts and chords are ignored while you type in a field or have
a dialog open. **Chords** are two keys pressed one after the other, within
about a second.
On Windows and Linux, read Ctrl wherever this page says ⌘.
## Search and jump (⌘K)
⌘ K (Ctrl K) or / opens
the command palette, the same one as the **Search or jump to…** box in the top
bar. Type a few letters and press ↵. It searches:
| Group | What matches |
| --- | --- |
| Monitors | Name, target (URL or hostname), description, or an exact tag such as `production`, up to 20 results |
| Hosts | Name, IP addresses, OS, kernel, CPU model, agent version and `key=value` tags, up to 8 results, each with its current status |
| Account and Organization | Every dashboard page by name, including the ones one level down in the sidebar: Contacts, Delivery log, Post-mortems, API keys, Notification preferences, Members, Subscription, Profile, Security, Sessions, and Activity log for owners and admins |
| Tools | Every Toolbox tool by name or description |
Inside the palette:

| ↵ | Open the highlighted result |
| Esc | Close the palette |
The palette opens empty every time. ⌘ K and /
do nothing while your cursor is in a text field, so press Esc or
click outside the field first.

## Inbox

| ↵ | Open what the notification is about (for an incident, the incident page) |
| u | Toggle read / unread |
| e | Dismiss |
| Esc | Close the open notification |
## Incident notes
In the **Internal notes** box on an incident page:

| ⌘ ↵ | Save the note |
| @ | Mention a teammate; ↑ / ↓ to choose, ↵ or Tab to insert, Esc to close the list |
| Esc | Cancel editing a note (or close an empty new note) |
## Post-mortem editor

| ⌘ B | Bold the selection |
| ⌘ I | Italicize the selection |
| ⌘ E | Inline code (rich editor) |
| `## ` or `### ` at the start of a line | Section heading or sub-heading (rich editor) |
| `- ` at the start of a line | Start a bullet list (rich editor) |
| ↵ in a `- ` line | Continue the bullet list (Markdown tab); ↵ on an empty bullet ends it |
| ↵ in the timeline field | Add the timeline entry |
## Layout

## Tag and email fields
