# CDN check: a warm cache no longer grades worse than a cold one

The CDN check scored evenness between regions as a ratio to the regional median, so a site that got fast — 50 ms in Europe, 150 ms in Africa — read as a 3× outlier and dropped from A to B, while the same site at a uniform 1 s everywhere graded A. A region now counts as an outlier only when it is genuinely slow in absolute terms (400 ms or more) and trails its regional median by at least 300 ms as well as 2.5×. When every location answers in under 400 ms the latency category simply says so. Applies to the free CDN check and to CDN monitors; rubric version 1.1.
