# One response timeout field, showing the number that actually applies

The timeout was in two places depending on what you were monitoring — a slider in General Settings for websites and APIs, a number box buried under Advanced Options for DNS, SSL and a dozen others — and for monitors that never had one set it showed 30 seconds while the check was really giving up at 15. There is now one field, next to the interval, for every type: it says the range it accepts and the number that applies when you leave it empty. Websites and APIs store the 30-second default explicitly, so what you read is what the check uses.
