# API monitor status no longer goes stale

If you read a monitor through the API, MCP or an SDK, its status could sit at “unknown” for hours after its checks turned green, or at “degraded” after a single old failure, until someone opened the dashboard. That was our inconsistency: only the dashboard list refreshed the stored status from the latest check. The API list, monitor detail and summary now apply the same refresh on every read, so /v1/monitors, /v1/summary and everything built on them agree with what you see in the app.
