# Monitor settings: only options that reach the probe are shown

A setting the check silently ignores is worse than no setting. The IP version selector now appears only for monitor types whose checks honour it, the email-security monitor's duplicate timeout field is gone, and blacklist monitors accept IP addresses on update as well as on create. The documentation now also explains how warning alerts are held back while a critical incident is open on the same monitor.
