# Documentation MCP server + richer machine-readable pricing

When your AI assistant does not know how a WatchFor feature works, it should read the docs instead of guessing. A read-only documentation MCP server at /api/docs-mcp (also reachable at /docs/api/mcp) exposes list_docs, search_docs and read_doc, no key needed. The product MCP server also gained reference resources and prompt templates. And /pricing.md now includes a full side-by-side plan comparison with prices and limits, so agents can compare plans without scraping the pricing page.

## Docs your assistant can read

Add https://watchfor.io/api/docs-mcp to any MCP client. It needs no key and can only read. It has three tools:

- list_docs lists every documentation page, optionally for one section such as alerting or monitors;

- search_docs finds pages by keyword;

- read_doc returns the full text of one page.

## An example

You ask your assistant how WatchFor decides that a monitor is down. Instead of guessing from old training data, it searches the docs, reads the incidents page and answers with the current rule and a link. Connect the product MCP server as well, and it can go on to check how one of your own monitors is set up.
