# WatchFor is now an A2A (Agent2Agent) agent

If you are building agents that hand work to other agents, WatchFor can now be one of them. Over the open Agent2Agent protocol, other AI agents can delegate monitoring tasks to WatchFor: diagnose what is broken and why, check status, report on incidents and reliability, and take actions like creating monitors or scheduling maintenance. Connect at /api/a2a with your API key or OAuth; the Agent Card is published at /.well-known/agent-card.json.

## MCP or A2A?

The [MCP server](/docs/api/mcp) gives an assistant WatchFor's tools to use one by one. A2A works one level up: your agent hands WatchFor a task, and WatchFor returns a finished result with a one-line summary your agent can pass on as-is, plus the structured data behind it.

## What another agent can ask for

- Understand: is it up, what is being watched, what is broken and why, the story of one incident, a reliability report for a period.

- Act: create a monitor, pause or resume one, run a check now, acknowledge or resolve an incident, schedule maintenance.

Skills are chosen by name, and WatchFor runs them against your account with the caller's credentials. It doesn't improvise.

## An example

Your deployment agent is about to roll out a database migration. It asks WatchFor to schedule 20 minutes of maintenance on the monitors tagged db , runs the migration, then asks for the active incidents on those monitors. The answer comes back as "0 active incidents", so it reports the deploy as healthy.

## Connect

Point your agent at https://watchfor.io/api/a2a with an API key or OAuth. Read skills need a read key; actions need write . The Agent Card at /.well-known/agent-card.json describes every skill. See [A2A](/docs/api/a2a).
