# Run a check on demand

You just deployed a fix and want to know it worked now, not whenever the next scheduled check comes around. Every monitor's menu now has a "Run check now" action that runs an immediate check from your configured locations; the API has it too, as POST /v1/monitors/{id}/check-now. On-demand checks are budgeted per plan so they stay fair for everyone.
