# 8 new notification channels — from Opsgenie to Zapier

An alert that has to be forwarded to the tool your team actually watches is an alert that arrives late. Eight more channels are now built in. Opsgenie joins PagerDuty for on-call: firing incidents open an Opsgenie alert and recoveries auto-close it, with US and EU regions supported. Google Chat, Mattermost and Rocket.Chat join Slack, Discord and Teams for chat (each a one-webhook setup); Gotify, Pushover and Pushbullet join ntfy for phone and desktop push; and Zapier connects alerts to 5000+ other apps via a Catch Hook. Add them under Alerting → Channels.

All channel types sit in one grid under Alerting, Channels & contacts.

## What's new

Kind New Joins

On-call Opsgenie PagerDuty

Chat Google Chat, Mattermost, Rocket.Chat Slack, Discord, Microsoft Teams

Push Gotify, Pushover, Pushbullet ntfy

Automation Zapier Webhook

## How they behave

- Opsgenie opens an alert when an incident fires and closes it when the monitor recovers, so your Opsgenie queue doesn't fill up with stale alerts. Choose the US or EU region to match your account.

- Google Chat, Mattermost and Rocket.Chat each need one incoming-webhook URL from the space or channel.

- Gotify, Pushover and Pushbullet send straight to your phone or desktop. Gotify works with your own server.

- Zapier receives each incident as flat JSON on a Catch Hook, so you can pass it on to any app Zapier connects to.

## An example

Your team talks in Mattermost and the on-call engineer carries Opsgenie. You add a Mattermost channel with the webhook of your #ops channel and an Opsgenie channel with its integration key. When the database goes down, #ops gets a message and Opsgenie pages the engineer. When it comes back, the Opsgenie alert closes by itself.

## Set one up

Go to Alerting → Channels & contacts → New channel , pick the type and paste the URL or key. Send test in the channel's menu shows you a real message before an incident does.
