# Round-robin now rotates across your selected locations

Round Robin with a hand-picked set of locations used to fire from all of them at once, which is not what round robin means. Each check now runs from one location at a time, rotating through your selection. If you do want every location checked simultaneously, pick Parallel instead.

## What changed

With Round Robin , each check now runs from one of your selected locations, and the next check moves on to the next one. Before, a hand-picked set fired from every location at once, which multiplied the requests to your site.

## Example

You monitor your shop every minute from Vilnius, Stockholm and Frankfurt.

Time Before Now

12:00 Vilnius, Stockholm, Frankfurt Vilnius

12:01 Vilnius, Stockholm, Frankfurt Stockholm

12:02 Vilnius, Stockholm, Frankfurt Frankfurt

12:03 Vilnius, Stockholm, Frankfurt Vilnius

Your site still gets a check every minute and is seen from all three cities every three minutes, at a third of the load. If a check fails, the confirmation re-checks come from your other locations, so a problem in one city is not mistaken for a global outage.

## When to pick Parallel

Choose Parallel when you need every location to check at the same moment, for example to compare CDN edges or catch a regional outage on the first check. Parallel is available on Pro and above.

## Where

Pick the Scheduling Strategy when you create a monitor, or later on its Settings tab. [Locations & scheduling](/docs/monitors/scheduling#scheduling-strategy) explains both options.
